![]() I love their appearance.Ĭant comment on my RA-17, havent got that far into it yet. Im not anti Hammarlund I own 11 of them and use most as they cycle thru the operating positions. ![]() ![]() All Collins have poor AGC except for the 75S3B/C, and audio. A standard R-388 is a $150-250 radio in nice original shape needing a few hours to overhaul and a few more to add some needed mods. Its even stable on 6M.Ī 51J3/R-388 with the mechanical filter adapter option or a 51J4 is a much better cruiser for crowded bands and it doesnt drift like every Hammarlund ever built. In a direct A-B choice sold to the same military market with the same functions I'll take the R-274/SX-73. Forget the 6M range, its as useless as a NC-183D which is every bit as good as a 600 plus much better audio. Had a SP-600 25+ years ago besides being a HQ-140 on steroids and double conversion it is simply another in a long line of single crystal filter radios. Hammarlund SP600-JX17 Performance Test Hammarlund SP600-JX17 Band: MDS: Blocking: Two-tone D.R. Whats your serial #, someone is trying to get a list? Ive had one for about 6 months and its a keeper but rarely even turned on. Im just not overly enthused with the 400's performance, especially electrical and mechanical stability. Dave, financially you made out well as the NC-400 commands at least twice a regular SP-600 which sold for a lot more.
